What Happens During a Root Canal?
Root canals typically take place over the course of two appointments, because the process involves the treatment itself and the restoration of the treated tooth. Dr. Pevzner will access the inside of the painful tooth where the pulp lies, which is a collection of soft tissue and nerves. After removing the infected pulp and sanitizing the inner chamber, he will proceed to fill the tooth with a biocompatible substance called gutta-percha, which will restore its structure.
