Advanced Dental Technology Austin
Where Precision Meets Excellence
Dr. Pevzner spares no expense when it comes to making sure that his patients receive the absolute highest quality of dentistry he can provide at Highland West Dental Care. That’s why our Austin dental office is equipped with cutting-edge dental technology like our cone beam CT (CBCT) scanner and digital impression system. Not only do these devices make each of your visits more streamlined and comfortable, but they also allow us to plan every detail of your procedure for the best possible outcomes.
CT/Cone Beam Scanner

Our cone beam CT (CBCT) scanner is an advanced imaging system that rotates around the head and takes thousands of images of your facial anatomy. It stitches these photos together to create a comprehensive, three-dimensional model of your entire facial and oral structures, allowing Dr. Pevzner to view your jawbone density, the location of your sinuses and facial nerves, and much more. We recommend capturing a cone beam scan before doing more extensive procedures to make sure all details of your unique anatomy are accounted for.
Intraoral Camera

Each of our operatories has a handy piece of technology called an intraoral camera, allowing Dr. Pevzner and our team to collect high-quality images of hard-to-see areas of the inside of your mouth. Intraoral cameras are wand-shaped devices with small cameras at the tip of them that allow us to capture still photos of areas of interest in your mouth and show them to you on our large TV screens. This helps you put a visual reference to any diagnoses or symptoms we’re describing as well as better understand why we’re recommending a certain treatment plan.
Digital Dental X-Rays

Film X-rays used to take ages to develop and use chemicals that are harmful to the environment. We’ve opted for a more environmentally friendly, safer, and more detailed method of capturing X-rays by using digital technology. Similar to the way your phone camera works, our dental assistants can snap digital X-rays that allow us to see your oral anatomy (like the roots of your teeth, jawbone, and more). These images will be immediately viewable to you and Dr. Pevzner on our large chairside monitor.
Digital Impression System

Putty impressions are quickly becoming a technique of the past. Our office is equipped with the Medit 900 intraoral scanner that takes detailed digital impressions. All our staff needs to do is wave the camera around your mouth, allowing us to capture a photorealistic 3D digital blueprint of your dental structure that we can immediately send to a dental laboratory. We are able to use the scanner for crowns, nightguards, and a host of other dental restorations and appliances.
